Welcome to RISK Insurers

Kantoor van RISK verzekeringen

On this page, we explain what RISK MGA is and what our role is within the financial sector. You can best see RISK MGA as a financial wholesaler. In our ‘shelves’, you will find a wide range of products from insurers, mortgage providers, and banks, supplemented with our own private label.

Because we operate as an authorized agent and have access to numerous agencies, we can deliver almost any product directly to you. As these are technical terms, we will explain below in a clear manner what an ‘MGA’ actually does and what the benefits of our many agencies are for you.

Managing General Agent (MGA)

An insurer, mortgage bank, or financing company can grant an organization (such as RISK MGA) the authority to act on their behalf. This means that we can operate as a “company.” This authority entails that we independently handle, accept, and process applications, and manage insurance, financing, or other financial products.

The advantage of such a mandate is that you, as a customer, have only one point of contact for all your financial inquiries. Having a mandate enables us to provide our services more quickly and efficiently. Would you like to know what a MGA is precisely and what benefits you have from it? Then click here.

Procedure for conflicting interests

Although we execute the MGA company (RISK Assuradeuren B.V.) and our role as an intermediary (RISK Direct) in separate legal entities, there is no complete task separation. A strict separation would hinder the efficiency advantages we want to offer you. As a result, there may be a situation where our role as an agent conflicts with our role as an intermediary.

We have formulated the following policy:

The actual leader of the delegated company is ultimately responsible for the delegated policy. If our procedures, work instructions or quality documents do not provide clarity on how we should act in a specific situation, the actual leader will make the decision.

Deviations from the established procedures or instructions are only possible in the following cases:

  • Within the powers of the delegation: After written consent from the actual leader of the delegated company.

  • Outside the powers of the delegation: With written consent from both the actual leader and the delegator (the insurer).

How do we handle claims involving multiple parties? When a discussion arises regarding liability in a claim and two or more of our own (delegated) insured parties are involved, we fully or partially outsource the claims handling. We do this to one of the involved insurers or delegators to ensure complete objectivity.

Specific situations:

  • Goodwill claims payment;

  • Payment of an uncovered claim;

  • Rejecting an uncovered claim;

  • Conflicting liability issues between one or more insured parties;

  • Applying or not applying B/M fallback in an unresolved claim (discussion over liability);

  • Applying too low a premium rate;

  • Granting discounts (e.g., extra B/M steps) on the premium;

  • Accepting a risk in delegation that is too high;

  • Demanding insufficient or no preventive measures, where they are required;

  • Deviating from the applicable notice period;

  • Deviating from the premium respite period (not suspending coverage in case of non-payment).

Fraud policy

When you take out a financial product such as an insurance policy, whether you do this yourself or through an advisor, you are placing your trust in us. That trust is the basis for a long-term relationship for us. For us, this also means that we do everything we can to limit fraud.

Unfortunately, it happens in the insurance industry that a small group takes advantage of the situation and tries to commit fraud. Therefore, we actively work to prevent fraud and investigate attempts at it. Fraud and the fight against it cost money, which ultimately affects the amount of your insurance premium. By keeping fraud to a minimum, we keep costs manageable for everyone.

In addition, we implement a fraud policy that closely aligns with that of the insurers. Since they have outsourced their responsibilities to us, they expect the same sharpness and care from us. Below, you can read how our policy looks.

Compare and take out insurance easily and quickly in one software package.  This is possible thanks to the collaboration between RISK (risk.nl) and Faster Forward. The Subliempakket (the online proposition from RISK) is integrated into Faster Forward Elements. As a result, an advisor no longer needs to log in at 2 or more places.

The CRM data entered in Faster Forward Elements automatically appears in the Subliempakket without the need for any additional action.
