Good stewardship begins with yourself

Is sustainability just a popular word that companies flaunt? Not for us. At RISK, we don’t embrace sustainability because it's fashionable. We recognize the importance of sustainability because it is our vision. RISK aims to handle non-renewable resources responsibly. That's why we have been working on sustainability measures for years. But what exactly does RISK do?

  • We use LED lighting in our 2 largest office locations, significantly reducing electricity consumption. We also use motion sensors in almost all areas of the building, ensuring that lights do not remain on unnecessarily.

  • We consciously manage our paper usage and strive to communicate as much as possible digitally. This is also true in the development of new insurance products. The focus is increasingly on digital communication between us and the customer. Paper consumption has been reduced by 96% in 2022 compared to 2019.

  • From mid-2024, we will handle our mail processing in the office without printers or copiers.

  • Our buildings have an energy label A. The buildings have climate systems that strive for minimal temperatures with the lowest possible consumption.

  • We have started planting the RISK Forest in the Netherlands.

  • We have entered into a partnership with Utrechts Landschap for the maintenance of existing nature reserves in the Netherlands.

  • We have purchased 5000 Macadamia trees in Malawi for CO2 reduction and local efforts to become self-sufficient.

  • All our customers can (by paying 0.25 cents per month) green their policy all at once. This includes the process from policy issuance to damage recovery and everything else that comes with it.

  • RISK donates a monthly amount for CO2 compensation for each customer.

A conscious place in society

We do not only reflect sustainability or responsible entrepreneurship in our housing and logistics, but our HR policy is also designed around this. We value our personnel and strive to find a good balance between talents, (im)possibilities, ambitions, and health. Therefore, we adhere to the following three HR pillars:

  • We pay attention to the sustainable employability of our employees across various locations within our organization. We do this based on their talents and skills. We also encourage our employees to further develop themselves through training, enabling them to be even more versatile.

  • To ensure that our employees find their work enjoyable and meaningful, we give personal attention to each employee.

  • We promote a healthy lifestyle. We offer fresh fruit daily.

At RISK, we also like to think about the future. That's why we invest in innovation:

  • We strive to continuously stay in motion by seizing new opportunities. We focus on product development, but also on innovation in technology and our business structure.

  • We invest in social innovation. We work in multidisciplinary teams, allowing us to collaborate efficiently. Externally, we are open to co-creation, which enables us to develop sustainable business models.
